The product packaging clearly states “Delivers explosive 5.1 and 7.1 digital surround sound.” Problem is, TOSlink optical transport systems by design only allows for transmission of 1.5Mbits/s thereby limiting channel capability to 5.1 Core channels. Anyone care to chime in on this?
Doesn’t this constitute false advertising?

Although this one is still a little pricey, it is half the cost of a majority of these cables. It is very solid and durable and I’ve had no problems with it so far. This will output 1080p from your PS3 to your HDTV(if your TV supports it). If that is what you are looking for then you should purchase this. However, you can find cheaper ones if you really look. This one seemed like the best choice to me and I have no regrets!

I got 2 of this product for my PS2 and PS3 and it works great, plus the design is very nice and goes with the both gamming systems, so if you want to get a good optic cable for you gamming needs, this cable is for you.

Customer Review: Good, but pricey and outdated
This is a good digital cable with a very strong and protected outer mesh, but it’s an HDMI 1.3 cable that works just as well (no better, no worse) than every other HDMI 1.3 cable I own. I used this for a while, and was satisfied with the results, but ultimately upgraded to a cheaper HDMI 1.3 Category 2 cable and haven’t looked back.

I read all the review on HDMI cables at Amazon.com and settled for the Sony brand. I’ve always liked Sony products and was not disappointed in what I got. It has a wire loom-like covering and just shows quality all around. Just for a few bucks more I would settle for this product again. I use it for my Viewsonic VX2835 HD connection to a PS3.
